Jared is a Cedar City native.  He is a Cedar High School graduate.  He married Lisa C. Hunziker in 1994 and they have four children.  Jared attended Southern Utah University and received his BS degree in Physical Science – Geology in 1998. 

 

Since graduation Jared has gained experience with geotechnical, geological, and materials testing (both in the field and in the laboratory).  He worked for Applied Geotechnical Engineering Consultants as a Field Technician in St. George, Utah, then as a Laboratory Supervisor for Jones and DeMille Engineering in Richfield, Utah, then Jared worked for four years as Staff Geologist for GEO Consultants in Cedar City, Utah.

 

Jared received his Professional Geologist License for the state of Utah and has received many certifications for both field and laboratory testing from the Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction (WAQTC) and the American Concrete Institute (ACI).  His licenses and certifications include:

Jared has been involved in a fault study of the Washington Fault in Washington County where he logged, mapped, and recorded his findings, including the displacement of the fault.  He has also completed a preliminary landslide study on Cedar Mountain.

 

Jared has experience with southern Utah conditions, where he has completed several Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.  He has done geotechnical field and laboratory tests.  He has logged trenches and boring holes on drilling rigs, environmental borings, water samples, construction testing and observations and numerous other field and laboratory tests.
